The Journal of the Polytechnic of Rijeka is a peer reviewed international multidisciplinary open access journal, open for collaboration to scientists and experts in the field of natural, biotechnical, technical and social sciences. The Journal has been published regularly since 2013, once a year. It publishes research and professional papers, reviews of books and other publications and translations of important papers, i.e. the content of which can arouse interest of scientific and professional public in different fields of economics, information and communication technologies, computing, traffic and transport technology, agronomy, oenology and applied mathematics.

By submitting the manuscript with the completed Application form and a signed Copyright Statement, the authors declare that the text of the article is their original work, does not contain any plagiarism and has not been published anywhere else or submitted to any other journal.

All manuscripts submitted for publication are reviewed by two anonymous and independent reviewers and the names of the authors are also unknown to the reviewers (double-blind review). In order to detect and avoid plagiarism, each manuscript is checked using Crossref Similarity Check (iThenticate).

Accepted articles are published according to the rules of a Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0. licence.

Before submitting the paper, please read our Journal Policy and Publication Ethics Statement carefully. When writing articles authors must pay special attention to the appropriate structuring of the text and its length according to the instructions. Submitted manuscripts should be written in Croatian or British English using the Microsoft Word Template.

The manuscript should not exceed 7000 words in length.

One author can submit and publish not more than one article in a single issue of the Journal.

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 6th Erasmus International Week organized by Afyon Kocatepe University, which will take place between 16 and 21 of April 2018, under the Erasmus+ Exchange programme for both Teaching Staff and Staff Training mobilities.

First of all, we are glad to have Erasmus+ Agreement with each of your university for nearly ten years. Since 2005, we have been sending and accepting many students and academic staff from various universities. So, we want to celebrate and thank to all of you with hosting you in our event. We would be happy to welcome colleagues from all departments and other associated fields of work. Both the host organization and the event participants will give a presentation about their institutions, or present ideas, concepts or works of their home institutions which will be analyzed and discussed in the framework of interactive workshops. Actually, the presentation topics of 6th Erasmus International Week should be mainly about international students’ adaptation to your university. Therefore, we would highly appreciate presentations from the participants. The language of the International Week is English.

Afyon Kocatepe University will offer the social program, lunches and gala dinner for the event participants. You will get great discount for accommodation from five stars Thermal Resort & SPA. Also, we are organizing a trip to Hierapolis, Kuşadası and Ephesus, on 19th of April (Arrival) and 20th of April 2018 (Departure). Program szkoleniowy Erasmus Staff skierowany jest zarówno do pracowników akademickich, jak i administracyjnych z uniwersytetów partnerskich UVT zainteresowanych zdobyciem wiedzy o nas, a także do zbadania wyzwań i możliwości programu Erasmus + oraz procesu internacjonalizacji w dziedzinie szkolnictwa wyższego w Europie i na świecie.

Harmonogram tygodnia obejmuje: prezentację UVT i instytucji partnerskich, prezentację Departamentu Stosunków Międzynarodowych i Biura Erasmus +, warsztaty poświęcone internacjonalizacji uczelni, job shadowing dla wszystkich uczestników wydarzenia, wizytę w muzeum, networking i pożegnalne kolacje w tradycyjnej rumuńskiej restauracji i pobliskiej winnicy.

Podczas wspólnego spędzania czasu zostaną omówione różne sposoby i podejścia, aby wesprzeć wszystkich uczestników Erasmus +, aby zaoferowali optymalne międzynarodowe studia / staż / warunki nauczania / szkolenia. Universitatea de Vest din Timişoara/ West University of Timișoara is very pleased to announce its forth edition of the Erasmus Staff Training Week: 24th – 28th April 2017.

Universitatea de Vest din Timisoara (UVT) is the main higher education and research center in Western Romania. It is a comprehensive university that fosters interdisciplinarity, including 11 faculties with their respective departments, as well as a Department of Teacher Training. The faculties functioning within the framework of UVT are: Arts and Design; Chemistry, Biology, Geography; Economics and Business Administration; Law and Administrative Sciences; Letters, History and Theology; Mathematics and Informatics; Music; Physical Education and Sports; Physics; Political Sciences, Philosophy and Communication Sciences; Sociology and Psychology.

Our Erasmus Staff Training Week targets all staff members from UVT’s partner universities interested in knowing more about us, as well as exploring the Challenges and Opportunities of the new Erasmus+ Programme and other processes of internationalization in the field of higher education in Europe and worldwide.

Our Programme includes: presentations of UVT’s 11 faculties all actively involved in Erasmus+ exchanges, presentation of our Department of International Relations and the Erasmus+ Office within it, job shadowing for all our participants, visit at museum, networking and farewell dinners at Romanian traditional restaurant and a nearby vineyard.

During the time spent together we will discuss various means and approaches to support all Erasmus+ participants in our universities in order to make them feel at home and offer optimum international study/placement/teaching/training conditions. Therefore, we would like to invite you all to share knowledge and good practices with us in Timişoara, the biggest city in the West of Romania.Should you be interested in participating in our Erasmus Staff Training Week, 4th edition 2017, please fill in the application form (available here ) by the 24th of March 2017. Participation fee: 80 euros/ person– to be paid upon arrival. SiMUN – Applications for Delegates and the Press team are open

Ljubljana, May 2016: MEOS, the Association for Promotion and Development of International Relations, continues with preparations for the SiMUN 2016 project. SiMUN is a simulation of different international organizations that is going to take place from 19th to 23rd of September 2016 in Ljubljana. Every year, the project gains more and more credibility and international recognition since this will be the 9th time its young participants from all over the world come together.

SiMUN 2016 will offer three committees: Security Council (United Nations), Foreign Affairs Council (European Union) and Ministerial Council (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe). The main topic in all committees will be the Balkans, especially Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country that is striving to overcome internal disputes in order to gain stability and to be eligible for membership in the international integrations of the so‑called developed West.

Applications for this year’s participants are already open. You can apply on our website: http://simunmeos.wix.com/simunmeos. Furthermore, applications for the press team are open as well – the press team consists of three journalists, an editor, and a photographer. Their central tasks are to report about the SiMUN conference and to create the newspaper called SiMUN TIMES. It is also still possible to apply for the function of a committee chair.

SiMUN is organized by the Association for Promotion and Development of International Relations (MEOS), which is an independent, voluntary, non-governmental, and non-profit association. The simulation is organized in order to promote intercultural dialogue, to upgrade communication skills, and to make new friends.
